At least the rail should be placed in front of the front wall, but preferably the entire system in order to optimise site movements. Sliding a sliding partition between 2 walls has several disadvantages, first of all it is not easy to clean between the walls and there is always the risk that the front partition will have to be taken down again in case of problems (think of toys that get blocked, such as Lego blocks).

With sliding glass doors in humid rooms, condensation will form on the cold glass plate and the condensation will settle between the walls when you subsequently slide the door between them, resulting in health risks.
