Modern block doors vs. invisible doors

If you are looking for an austere inner door solution, you will soon end up with minimalist block doors or invisible inner doors with an integrated frame. In this blog post, we list the differences and the pros and cons of both door systems so that you can make clear choices and make the right preparations.

Sleek and low-maintenance door solution

Builders and renovators today usually choose a sleek and low-maintenance door solution. Then you are certainly at the right address at Anyway. At the top of the list are block doors with a minimal frame or, for the purists, doors with an invisible frame. For both door concepts a plasterer or other professional who finishes the door opening properly and according to the correct rules should be engaged. The only difference between the two is the actual moment when the plasterer or the system wall professional steps in.

As a Belgian door manufacturer, ANYWAY creates products that either blend into their surroundings or just stand out visually, coupled with practical functionality and ultimate ease of use. Every door, regardless of the chosen frame, is a technological tour de force. Future-oriented design and always realised in the most aesthetically responsible manner.

All our doors are always made to measure and are fitted with invisible hinges and a unique patented lock that allows the door to open in one direction (90°) or in both directions (180°), completely silently and without a traditional latch operation. The unique pivot hinges are also never built into the floor, so the door can hinge to the left or right, which remains adjustable after installation, as well as the direction of rotation.

Block doors = the budget-friendly solution

Our timeless block doors are equipped with a compact aluminium block frame that can be anodised in natural or black. With this frame concept we offer a clear and minimalistic door concept, which due to its simplicity also results in our most budget-friendly door solution. The block frame is preferably mounted centrally on the "finished" door opening.

This central mounting position prevents tearing, cracking and loosening of the BKO frame and makes the door optically identical on both sides. This creates a frameless effect because your paintwork and skirting boards go right up to the frame! Visually, 22 mm of profile remains visible around the door leaf. Natural aluminium has the property of absorbing reflections from its surroundings and is therefore the least conspicuous in white walls, as demonstrated by the various realisations at the bottom of this page.

BKO frame practical
  • Anodised aluminium BKO frame W 48 mm x D 25 mm
  • Central mounting in the fully finished opening (at least 20 mm from the wall angle)

Preparation:

  • Fully closable door opening and lintel sides
  • For system walls = to be reinforced with wood inside
  • Central floor transition or expansion joint

After assembly:

  • Finishing skirting boards
  • Painting kit joint
Invisible internal doors = recessed frame to be fully integrated

Doors with invisible frames are very hip and trendy, but Anyway Doors has been offering them in its product range since 1998. We can therefore rightly call ourselves a real pioneer in the field of invisible interior doors. A built-in frame requires the necessary practical preparations and especially a structured and hands-on site follow-up, so that the system is installed correctly. As a manufacturer, we offer a tried and tested system that, provided it is installed correctly, will guarantee a beautiful end result without cracks in the future!

IBO frame practical
  • Aluminium frame + stainless steel control plates W 48mm x D 40mm
  • Implementation in 2 phases! (1st frame | 2nd door panel)
  • Compulsory central mounting in the opening of the day
  • Minimum wall thickness 80mm

Points of attention:

  • Mounting on unfinished wall
  • To be installed by craftsman
  • Central floor transition or expansion joint
  • Skirting boards to be built into the reveal!
Why would you choose doors from Anyway Doors?

When making your choice, also consider the budgetary issue, as an invisible door will always be more expensive than a block door. On the one hand, more material is required, but we also come to the site several times, which increases the final total cost. In practical terms too, it is easier to work with a BKO frame since you can finish off the entire house before the door story begins.

  • Made-to-measure
  • Adjustable 90° or 180° opening
  • Invisible hinges with built-in comfort closure
  • No floor mounting
  • Fully finished = nothing to paint + durable & low maintenance
  • Child-friendly door concept
  • Built-in ventilation
  • Silent closing and hands-free opening
  • Unique handles and locks collection
